Q: What is the meaning of life? 

A: To bring joy and love to those around you. Flowers are an expression of that love and joy! 

Q: How do I extend the life of cut flowers? 

A: Re-cut the stems every two to three days, and add fresh water to the vase with a few drops of bleach or flower food added.   The bleach keeps stem-clogging bacteria to a minimum, thereby extending your flowers’ shelf life.   Please keep flowers out of full sun.  

Q: How often should I add water to flower arrangements arranged in oasis (floral foam)? 

A: Four to eight ounces every two to three days. 

Q: Traditionally, men send flowers to women. Do women send flowers to men? 

A: They certainly do! Men enjoy and appreciate planter gardens and masculine tropical flower arrangements;  sports-related items such as golf balls & tees can be added to these.  

Q: How do I place an order? 

A: All orders are placed over the phone, so we can discuss availability, delivery fees and to schedule the delivery or pick up at Island Orchard Florist. 

Alternative payment options such as Pay Pal, Venmo, etc are not available.  

Q: Do you ship tropical flowers to the mainland (continental U.S.)? 

A: Yes, we ship gift boxes via FedEx on Tuesdays, featuring a mix of flowers such as bird of paradise, ginger, protea, heliconia, orchids, and anthuriums, to name just a few. Visit our site at www.tropicalflowers.com for more infomation.  

Q: Do you deliver locally? 

A:   Yes,  we offer delivery service to areas within a reasonable distance from our store.

The minimum order for local delivery is $75. Most arrangments average $100-$150.   Delivery fees range from $20 to $35 depending on the distance.   Hawaii GE tax is added.

Deliveries to Ka'upulehu: - includes Four Seasons Hualalai, Hualalai Villas & Homes and Kukio -require a $200 floral minimum order plus $50 delivery charge plus Hawaii GE tax.   Deliveries to Ka'upulehu may require additional advance notice to schedule a delivery.  

 

 General Information regarding local delivery:

  All local deliveries are scheduled in advance with the intended recipient.   

The  recipient or someone at the delivery address is contacted in advance to schedule the delivery, to confirm the delivery address, to confirm someone will be on hand to accept the delivery, and to address any additional information needed to complete the delivery.  This includes gates,  a code may be required for entry, and any dogs that may need to be sequestered or tied up while making the delivery.  

Permission to leave an arrangement at a recipients address must come directly from the recipient only.

Decisions to make changes to the delivery location within our local delivery parameters and/or scheduled date by the recipient will be honored and supported.  The sender will be notified of any requested changes.  

Q:  Is it possible to pick up an arrangement up at Island Orchard Florist?

A:  We try to always have a few things ready and available;  however it is best to call ahead and pre-order an arrangement or lei for pick up.   24-48 hours advance notice is ideal.    

Arrangements starting at $75 can be made available for pick up at our store with advance notice.  These are packed for ease of transport at no extra change.  Remember,  flowers are always appreciated whether they are delivered or picked up.    People love being thought of with flowers!

Q:  I'm getting married or wish to inquire about an event.   What is the first step I should take?

A:   Availability of products and services is extremely limited,  as we have mostly retired from providing florals for weddings and events.      However,  If your event or wedding date not near a busy holiday,  and only a handful of items are needed,  please send us an email:  amy@kona.net to inquire if the date is available.  If it is,  we will email the event questionnaire for submission.    The completed event questionnaire is a pre-requisite for providing quotes and additional information.  

Event and wedding flowers are picked up or delivered on the date of the wedding itself ONLY;  no exceptions.
